I grew up on a hill that overlooks East Ashley Street on the edge of a small town in southern Minnesota. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of sitting out behind our old green barn drawing, painting, and writing stories. I went to college in Oklahoma to follow my love of volleyball, and after graduating with a business degree, I came home to Minnesota and eventually found my way back to my first love: painting. I currently live in Minneapolis, and I also have a tiny studio in the Q.arma Building in the NE Minneapolis Arts District.
I love small-town main streets, country roads, flea markets, the midwest, photography, and the well-made, well-used, everyday items from the past. These loves have all merged together into my watercolor illustrations, which are vintage-inspired, but with a modern perspective.
